Once she has  completed her training, she will be working free-lance as an archivist and information specialist, making the collections accessible to researchers and visitors in the biographical department, on the Internet and in the future Sufi Research Center in Suresnes.

For making digital information easily accessible, she will attend additional training and work with colleagues at other institutions.

Shahbaz-Alex-Dijk

Shahbaz Alex Kiss,

a mureed based in Brummen, the Netherlands, joined the team in 2013.  Shahbaz is a graduate of the Suluk Europe class, Parvana. He is a writer and journalist. He obtained his Masters Degree in Philosophy from Radboud University Nijmegen in 2018.

Shahbaz taught himself the Pont Shorthand System used by Nekbakht Furnée, and after a practice period began transcribing documents for the books in the Complete Works series. The most recent results are Complete Works, 1926 Volume III and IV, which will be published in the fall of 2022. He and Berthi van der Bent Hamel (see past workers) corresponded by email and have worked together on several occasions, meeting in Suresnes. After Berthi van der Bent Hamel retired from the work in 2018, Shahbaz took on the remaining work on the transcriptions.

Combining his editing and Pont shorthand skills, he recently started streamlining the older volumes, beginning with those dealing with Inayat Khan’s 1922 activities. Reissuing the older volumes aims at increasing their overall readability and matching their form to present-day research needs.

A team of freelance individuals supports the work in and around the Biographical Deartment. They are shown below:
